WHAT WE LOOK FOR

We are looking for a seasoned, hardworking, smart Sales Engineer with proven experience and a passion for selling advanced scientific and technical control instruments to businesses, preferably for metal applications.

After a period during which you will partner with the current sales manager of metal applications, you will be responsible for selling into new prospects as well as farming back into existing customers to ensure high renewal and customer satisfaction levels. Measures of success include new customer acquisition rates, renewal rates, customer satisfaction and contribution to overall sales team and business success.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Generate high-quality sales leads, follow up after initial contact, secure and renew orders, negotiate prices, and complete sales, either directly or through supporting Scantech subsidiaries, worldwide.

Cultivate the current customer relations through periodical follow-ups and customers who have problems with installed products and recommend improved or upgraded materials and machinery.

Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.

Provide equipment technical and engineering information to present Scantech products to customers and successfully match customer requirements to proposed solutions.

Present on-line control and measurement gauges in the metal industries through one-to-one meetings, attending tradeshows & conferences.

Solicit and log client feedback and effectively communicate client needs to the R&D teams for future product enhancements.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

Keep an extensive knowledge of the company products’ parts, functions, and processes.

WHAT YOU BRING

Previous experience in business-to-business (B2B) sales of control and measurement instruments, preferably for the metal industry (alternatively, solid experience in commissioning/maintenance of control and measurement instruments in the metal industry with an appetite for customer relationship).

Ability to forge strong, long-lasting customer relationships.

Hands-on approach in understanding highly technical customer needs and ability to explain complex concepts in an easy to understand manner.

Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.

Willingness and ability to travel up to 70% of the time.

A bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.

Computer proficiency and the ability to accurately enter data and generate reports.

Excellent command / highly proficient in spoken and written English (French would be an asset).

LOCATION

The preferred location is at our headquarters in Chambéry, France.

Alternatively, you could be located at our subsidiary in Andernach, Germany.
